DJ Jamie Lin
[jamielin.com]
Jamie Lin brings her ultra-funky, sometimes chunky,
groovy and deep house style to the decks. With influences from SF and
Chicago house music, the love of house drives her to expand San Jose's
slim non-mainstream music scene with great house music nights. Her
weekly DJ Residencies in San Jose include Mixture at Blowfish's Fugu
Sake Lounge and Monday Night Live at the Blue Monkey.
After carpal tunnel took a toll on her wrists, she let
her guitars gather dust as she finally had enough cash to drop records
and equipment in 2003. Since then, Jamie Lin has already graced the
sound systems of top clubs in San Francisco such as Ruby Skye, The
Endup, Mighty, The Cellar and Butter. Her natural talent in theater
set building and 3d design prepared her to develop and build a float
with fellow house lovers dubbed, "The House that Jack Built" for San
Francisco's LoveFest Parade 2006 (aka The Love Parade).
Jamie has been a featured guest on Chicago's WCRX
88.1FM, FriskyRadio.com, EOM Sessions, and Clubstar Sessions based in
Germany. DJ Liquid released 2 tracks featuring Jamie Lin's vocals on
his Hyperfocus album in 2006. Besides singing, she's a classically
trained violinist and her short attention span encourages her to play
a variety of instruments.
In the fashion realm, Jamie Lin was the Vice President
of her previous clothing line LiveLife Culture, and teamed together
with Myspace's fashion lounge for the trade show MAGIC '06. During the
Las Vegas show, she performed in the Myspace Lounge amidst the slew of
well established celebrity clothing lines and world famous DJs.
